When we work, we work. When we pray, God works.
The early church spread the gospel so effectively because they were a praying church. Prayer was the foundation on which the early church was built – and the foundation from which the gospel spread (Acts 2:42) Jesus said in John 15:4-5, “…No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” If you read the book of Acts you’ll walk away saying “Wow, they did a lot for the cause of Christ.” Well, the reason they accomplished so much for God is because they prayed. Here’s the good news: If we learn to pray as they prayed, we can see the results they saw.
