The Book of Philippians
The apostle Paul first visited the city of Philippi during his second missionary journey. Paul shared the gospel with Lydia and a Christian church was started. Paul shared the gospel with the Roman jailer and the Christian church grew. Ten years later when the Christians at the church in Philippi learned that Paul was imprisoned in Rome they sent a financial gift and a man named Epaphroditus to care for Paul‘s needs. When Epaphroditus became fatally ill, Paul sent him back to Philippi, with a letter – the letter you and I now know as the “book” of Philippians. In this series we are systematically studying through this fascinating book.
